Steven has over twenty years of professional finance experience. In 2002, he founded SMS Capital Management, LLC, a boutique wealth management firm to better serve the needs of business owners, corporate executives, professionals, and mass affluent households.

Prior to founding SMS, Steven was a Director with Enron’s Principal Investment’s Group where he managed a portfolio of both private and public investments in the energy and telecommunications sectors. Steven was also a corporate banker with The Fuji Bank, Ltd. As well as a commercial lending officer with Texas Commerce Bank (now Chase Bank).

Robert A. Rizarri
Client Operations Manager
Robert joined SMS Capital Management in March of 2010. Robert is responsible for client service issues as well as the back office operations of the firm. Prior to joining SMS, Robert worked with a wealth management firm based in Baton Rouge, Louisiana.

Douglas E. Carroll

Doug joined SMS Capital Management in January 2018. Doug came to SMS after working for over 15 years as a consulting engineer in the electrical power industry. Doug is currently enrolled in the Rice CFP® certification education program and is assisting with SMS’s financial planning services.

Currently enrolled in the Rice University Certified Financial Planner® certification education program with expected graduation in May 2018.
Doug is actively involved in the Houston Chapter (Lone Star Region) of the Porsche Club of America. Doug acts as the club’s treasurer as well as volunteering as a High Performance Driving Education instructor.
